Setting and Achieving Your Goals

When setting goals for the year, month or week, I always try to get as specific as I can. I’ve used this 5 step process to help me get achieve my goals time and time again, and use it with clients who struggle reaching their goals as well.

During this years Burnout to Breakthrough program I had a client who I did this with to figure out her 5 year goals, and within 30 days she ended up achieving over 70% of her entire 5 year plan.

Let me repeat that – she achieved in 30 days what she thought would take her 1,825 days!

5 Steps to Set and Crush Your Goals

Being aware of your goals gives you guidance. The goal is to be aware without obsessing. With awareness comes the natural instinct to achieve it, and a lot of times you are reaching goals that you didn’t even realize were apart of your 5 year plan, but not acknowledging it. Which then leads to feeling like you aren’t good enough and a bunch of other unnecessary negative feelings.

In Episode 92 The Art of Letting Go, I teach you the process of letting go of old or unaligned goals, but today let’s go over how to set new goals.

Setting goals is crucial for success in any field, and it's no different for creative entrepreneurs. However, goal setting can be challenging, especially when you're juggling multiple projects and trying to manage your time effectively.

1. Define your vision:

Start by defining your long-term vision for your business. What do you want to achieve? Where do you see your business in five years? Having a clear vision will help you set realistic goals that align with your overall business strategy.

2. Break down your goals:

Once you have your long-term vision in mind, break it down into smaller, manageable goals. This will help you stay focused and motivated as you work towards your larger vision. Make sure your goals are specific, measurable, and time-bound.

3. Prioritize your goals:

Not all goals are created equal. Prioritize your goals based on their importance and their alignment with your overall business strategy. I have a spot in my Notion set up for future goals because I know that realistically, I’m not ready for them or I cant do them until I finish the pre-rec to it. Prioritizing your goals will help you focus your time and energy on the most important tasks.

4. Create an action plan:

Once you've prioritized your goals, create an action plan to achieve them. This plan should include specific tasks and ideal deadlines for each goal. Be realistic about the time & resources required to achieve your goals, and adjust your plan as necessary. It took 3 months to create & design our Work Intuitively Masterclass, but it took years of prep work, working with clients, research and trials runs before I was ready to create the Masterclass.

5. Track your progress:

Regularly track your progress towards your goals. This will help you stay on track and make adjustments as needed. If you have a membership and your goal is to have 30 new members, go to the dollar store, get 2 clear jars and bag of marbles. Then fill up one jar with 30 marbles and every time a new member joins move a marble over to the other jar. Not only is this a physical reminder of your goals, but it will help you celebrate your successes along the way to stay motivated.

And don’t forget, reaching your goals is an ongoing process, so make sure to regularly review and adjust your goals as your business evolves. You got this!
